Pourquoi le léopard est bien tendance ? 👀 - carlisfrance

Why is leopard so trendy? 👀

Back to school means new newsletter...🪄 This week we're talking about leopard, our favorite book and other things ✨

The fashion point 🪄

The leopard print, a big trend for 2024-2025, is not new. Although it has been very present in our outfits since this winter, its origins date back to 1925. This pattern first became popular thanks to actress Marian Nixon, who caused a sensation in Los Angeles by parading in a leopard coat, accompanied by a leopard on a leash. Long associated with a sultry image and perceived as too pin-up for some, the leopard took on a whole new dimension when Christian Dior included it in his 1950s collections. Since then, all designers and different groups, from the hippie movement to rockers, have appropriated this print. Celebrities like Rita Hayworth, Jackie Kennedy, Liz Taylor, and Joséphine Baker have contributed to its popularity by wearing leopard coats. Today, this pattern comes in bright colors or is embellished with flowers, as at Cavalli. Leopard print projects the image of a strong and confident woman, a feline look that transcends eras. From the 70s/80s, with the punk movement, to the 90s when designers like Versace and Jean-Paul Gaultier took it up, leopard print symbolizes a woman who asserts her sex appeal and independence. In 2024, leopard print can be worn in small touches, such as on shoes or a bag, but also in a total look or combined with colorful pieces 👀

Carlis advice : avoid poor quality materials. Leopard, just like the animal it is inspired by, must remain a noble print! The cut must be impeccable: a mid-length skirt, an oversized jacket or wide pants. Why not pair our wide-cut leopard pants with a loose t-shirt that falls on the shoulders? Carlis wide-leg pants allow you to be comfortable all day long, while enjoying dinners with friends and maintaining a modern and trendy look. Their wide cut, with pockets inserted in the front cut, is very comfortable and adds a touch of originality. Our pants are made of Italian ottoman, a solid, sophisticated and easy-care fabric. For back to school, pair them with a blazer or an oversized sweater, and you're done!) ✨
